Serves as Student Trainee (Information and Arts) in the field of public affairs and museum functions under the Pathways (Internship) Program. Works under a progressive training program in cooperation with an accredited college or university or while attending high school. Work assignments are commensurate with college curriculum. Performs a variety of basic developmental assignments designed to orient the incumbent to the organization and its functions. Receives on-the-job training in selected assignments to provide experience in the application of concepts, principles, practices, and procedures of the Unites States Military Entrance Processing Command (USMEPCOM).

1. Assists specialists and supervisors in planning and conducting public affairs functions (e.g., community relations activities, ceremonies, and writing and editing). Assists in coordinating social media and web activities, updating internet sites/pages, photography, producing communication products (videos, articles, newsletters), as needed.

2. Within the assigned basic project/program scope, assists in planning and organizing actions necessary to accomplish short-and long-term program goals. Assists in the initiation of appropriate required action. Works closely with supervisor and other staff members to develop and solve problems/issues and makes basic recommendations. Assists supervisor or staff members in the formulation of milestones, goals, target dates, and requirements to evaluate/analyze various aspects of projects/programs. Assists in monitoring status of accomplishments against established schedules; on occasion is tasked to identify anticipated problem areas and initiate simple corrective actions.

3. Produce a variety of special projects, reports, forms, etc., produces a variety of completed products, including researching supplemental material, checks the accuracy of references or citations in the material, and referring to the originator for review and/or signature as appropriate. Responsible for preparation of reports and maintenance of files. Applies knowledge of general automation software, practices, and procedures.
