This position is for a newly created business segment within Modine to address the rapidly growing Electric and Fuel Cell vehicle market. Individuals in this position would be responsible for creation and maintenance of technical content including customer facing documentation (user manuals, installation instructions, troubleshooting manuals, and so on), product specifications, and work instructions related to Modine’s Electric Vehicle (EV) and Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEV) business.

This position will report to the Senior Technical Writer and is based at our global headquarters in Racine, Wisconsin.  This position is flexible for a hybrid work schedule and operates under normal business hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive documentation that meets organizational standards.
  • Research, write, and edit new and existing content, working closely with subject matter experts to help ensure specialized topics are appropriately addressed.
  • Research, create, and maintain documentation templates for customer facing documentation (user manuals, installation instructions, troubleshooting manuals, and so on), product specifications, and product sheets.
  • Analyze information required for the development or update of policy, procedure, and form documentation .
  • Write user-friendly content that meets the needs of the target audience, and communicates information in a clear and logical way.
  • Review and/or edit content developed by other members of the team.

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience in technical writing
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially related to writing style, active and passive voice, etc.
  • Prior experience with creation and maintenance of user manuals, installation guides, specifications, or any other writing for end users
  • Experience with document management systems and ownership of an end-to-end document creation process
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Experience with InDesign and Illustrator would be highly beneficial

Education Requirements:

  • An associate’s degree from a college or certification from a technical school in a relevant technical field
