Quality Lab Associate I 3rd Shift

Summary:

Conduct critical biological, chemical, and physical analysis on raw materials; initial, in-process and final products; and samples collected from environmental monitoring programs at the Round Lake Drug Delivery facility

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This is a 3rd Shift 10 Nights Sunday-Wednesday or Monday-Thursday 10pm-8am
  • Conduct biological, chemical and physical analyses on pharmaceutical products (biologics and drugs) and medical devices through all stages of the manufacturing process from incoming raw materials to finished goods, and environmental monitoring programs Conductcritical biological, physical analyses on raw materials, initial, in-process and final products, and samples collected from environmental monitoring programs at Baxter manufacturing facilities
  • Work under minimum supervision.
  • Conduct environmental monitoring testing of all cleanrooms that will require personnel to be standing for majority of the day.
  • Use sophisticated laboratory instrumentation and computer systems to collect and record data.
  • Perform advanced assays requiring precise analytical skills and understanding of microbiology principles.
  • Complete all testing, including special project / protocol testing in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Maintain data integrity and ensure compliance with company SOPs and specifications, FDA, GLP, QSR and cGMP regulations.
  • Participate in functions involving teams, which impact production, increase efficiency, solve problems, generate cost savings and improve quality.
  • Perform laboratory and manufacturing audits as required. Audit and update, as required, plant SOPs.
  • Perform sample collection and processing during off-shifts and potentially weekends.
  • Adhere to the appropriate PPE requirements for the task being performed.

Job Requirements and Education
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently, and in a timely fashion.-Computer literate.
  • Must be detail oriented, conscientious and have high reading comprehension skills.
  • Must have basic understanding of laboratory instrumentation.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisors and peers and have a positive attitude.
  • Must have the ability to lift up to 15 pounds and sustain prolonged standing with periodic lifting, walking, standing, bending, stooping and stretching. Knowledge of any of the following is a plus:
  • Environmental Monitoring of Cleanrooms -Membrane filtration -QC Microbiology -Serial Dilution -Gram Staining -Sub culturing -Bacterial Endotoxin -Final Product Sterility Testing

Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelors Degree in Chemistry or Bio Chemistry and Chemistry Laboratory setting coursework. New Grads are welcomed to apply.
