CTS - AV and Classroom Support Consultant

Job Description: Provide training and support for faculty, students, and staff using classroom equipment. Performs operation and maintenance of audio-visual equipment used to support a wide variety of instructional methods and techniques. Monitors classroom equipment using interface/monitoring software.

Qualifications:
  1. Previous experience with audiovisual equipment preferred.
  2. Intermediate knowledge of personal computer hardware. Previous hardware troubleshooting experience is preferred.
  3. Knowledge of basic computer networking and cabling infrastructure and troubleshooting.
  4. Willingness to learn new skills and information
  5. Ability to communicate in a clear and professional manner, with students, faculty, campus staff, and audiovisual staff.
  6. Flexibility in diverse working conditions,
  7. Ability to remain professional in stressful situations.
  8. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  9. Ability and willingness to search for answers to technical issues using all available resources (UWP Knowledge Base, web FAQs, Google, etc.).

Job Functions:
  1. Check out technology and equipment to students and staff across campus.
  2. Support classroom technology by troubleshooting and reporting issues via Footprints.
  3. Monitor labs as assigned and assist with patron requests.
  4. Refer patrons to appropriate resources when requests are not in our area of service.
  5. Create and upload Knowledge Base documentation related to our classroom and checkout technology, and our standard practices and procedures.
  6. View Lynda.com tutorials and internal documentation to improve knowledge of the information technology.
  7. Other duties as assigned.

Professional Development Requirements:
  1. Attend all required Professional Development Training
  2. Read books, periodicals, and internal documentation to improve knowledge of the information technology and future trends.
  3. Attend classes, training, and workshops to increase IT knowledge and other relevant skills as designated by Client Services Manager and Desktop Support full time staff.
