Position: Campus Ambassador
Overview:  Vote Everywhere, a program of The Andrew Goodman Foundation (The AGF), activates youth civic engagement by connecting social issues to the ballot box. The Andrew Goodman Ambassador is an on-campus representative, advocate and champion for civic engagement. By inspiring and organizing peers, Andrew Goodman Ambassadors help students contribute their voice and build a healthier democracy.
The Ambassadorship is a multi-year internship for emerging leaders. The Ambassador receives ongoing leadership training and support from The AGF and the college Campus Champion. Vote Everywhere Ambassadors develop the leadership skills, confidence and strategic problems solving necessary to affect change on campus and beyond.
Ambassadors should work with their campus administrators, faculty, staff and student leaders to help register and engage students in the election process. Ambassadors will receive orientation, training, support and guidance from AGF. This position is for the fall 2021 and spring 2022 semesters.

Selection Process: Ambassadors must currently be enrolled in courses in the fall semester, and not graduating in December. They will be selected by campus advisors.
Terms of Service: Aug. 15, 2021 – May 15, 2022 (Training summit will take place in June, 2021)
Payment: approximately $1,500.00
Semester Hours: Approximately 150 hours for the year (average of 5 hours per week). Hours worked will be divided as follows: 30-40 hours on direct activities; 25 –40 hours on trainings, check-ins and monthly team meetings; and 60-70 hours on institutional projects. 
Description: AGF Ambassadors will be responsible for developing a plan to engage students in voter registration, education and getting out the vote, either in person or remotely. Through this Ambassadorship you will work to communicate with the campus community on 2020 election efforts. This can be done through coordination with online /in person courses, via social media, campus events. Nonpartisan engagement contributes skills that look good on a resume and are applicable to all job fields.
  
Specific things to expect:
·      Weekly check-ins with campus liaison(s) to troubleshoot campus plan and provide additional support;
·      Collaborate and partner with student organizations, campus administrators and faculty to organize voter registration, voter education and other virtual voter engagement efforts on your campus;
·      Create an engagement plan for how you will organize your remote and in person work that includes a minimum 4 engagement activities and a legacy project (initiated in the Spring), and document those efforts; and
·      Compose and submit an end-of-semester report summarizing activities and accomplishments. 

Duties and Responsibilities:
·      Ensure voter registration, voter education and get out the vote (GOTV) efforts are well-organized, visible and institutionalized part of campus life
·      Participate in AGF Ambassador training by AGF staff and Campus Champions
·      Participate in AGF regional conference calls with Vote Everywhere Program Manager
·      Maintain weekly contact with Campus Champions to trouble shoot campus plan and provide additional support
·      Articulate the mission and vision of Vote Everywhere by connecting on-campus efforts to the history of the US Civil Rights Movement and the legacy of Goodman, Schwener and Chaney
·      Update the AGF Activity Log Sheet; documenting number of students reached, activities completed, and number of voter registrations
·      Submit AGF electronic activity log as directed by the Vote Everywhere Program Manager
·       Submit a bi-weekly hour log to Campus Champion for the duration of the service term
·      Compose and submit an end-of-year report summarizing activities and accomplishments
·      Organize, partner and mobilize like-minded students, clubs and organizations around voting and social issues
·      Recruit and mentor volunteers and future Ambassadors

Requirements:
·      Currently enrolled students with a positive and friendly attitude;
·      A commitment to educating peers about the importance of voter registration and becoming an informed voter;
·      Self-starters who take initiative to develop and implement their work plans;
·      Online organizing and social media skills are preferred, but not required;
·      Access to an electronic device such as a computer or tablet and a stable internet connection is required.
·      Flexible with time commitments and interest for voter registration/voter education; and
·      Willingness to participate in initial orientation/training, and maintain regular contact with AGF staff and campus liaisons throughout the Ambassadorship.
