CTS - AV and Classroom Support Consultant
Job Description: Provide training and support for faculty, students, and staff using classroom equipment. Performs operation and maintenance of audio-visual equipment used to support a wide variety of instructional methods and techniques. Monitors classroom equipment using interface/monitoring software.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience with audiovisual equipment preferred.
- Intermediate knowledge of personal computer hardware. Previous hardware troubleshooting experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of basic computer networking and cabling infrastructure and troubleshooting.
- Willingness to learn new skills and information
- Ability to communicate in a clear and professional manner, with students, faculty, campus staff, and audiovisual staff.
- Flexibility in diverse working conditions,
- Ability to remain professional in stressful situations.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability and willingness to search for answers to technical issues using all available resources (UWP Knowledge Base, web FAQs, Google, etc.).
Job Functions:
- Check out technology and equipment to students and staff across campus.
- Support classroom technology by troubleshooting and reporting issues via Footprints.
- Monitor labs as assigned and assist with patron requests.
- Refer patrons to appropriate resources when requests are not in our area of service.
- Create and upload Knowledge Base documentation related to our classroom and checkout technology, and our standard practices and procedures.
- View Lynda.com tutorials and internal documentation to improve knowledge of the information technology.
- Other duties as assigned.
Professional Development Requirements:
- Attend all required Professional Development Training
- Read books, periodicals, and internal documentation to improve knowledge of the information technology and future trends.
- Attend classes, training, and workshops to increase IT knowledge and other relevant skills as designated by Client Services Manager and Desktop Support full time staff.
