Career Ambassador l

The Advising & Career Center is seeking UW Parkside students to serve as Career Ambassadors to help other students navigate the career development process in "peer mentoring" roles and to promote services, events, programs and resources provided by the department.

Parkside Career Ambassador Role:

·        Helping students write resumes, cover letters, and search for jobs
·        Helping students claim and set-up Handshake and LinkedIn profiles
·        Assisting with career fair planning, promotion and implementation
·        Supplying information on advising and career center services, programs, events and resources
·        Presenting on related topics to student organizations, residence halls and classes
·        Promotion career events, programs, services and resources through social media and other techniques

Requirements:
·      Position is open for rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors. It is also open for first-year graduate students. 2.5 GPA overall
·        Strong interpersonal skills and high level or professionalism
·        Ability to communicate in a concise and effective manner, both verbally and in writing
·        Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Docs and social media platforms
·        Must be available to work 10 hours/week throughout the school year

·   Must have the ability to work independently and as a team member
·   A strong customer service orientation – ability to exercise good judgement
·   Must have a professional demeanor
·   Dependable and punctual
